Our Theraplay Philosophy

At Theraplay, we speak often about our family-orientation and having a servant mindset. Our team of dedicated, licensed therapists are all fully committed to the growth and accomplishments of the children and families we serve.

In our experience, when an individual or organization places service first, everything else falls into place as it should. This priority is especially true for pediatric therapy practices like Theraplay that serve the needs of special children.  We know that being “all in” for our children and their families is a must.

Our family-oriented approach includes the important role that parents play in the progress and accomplishments of their children. Our founder, Jeanine Morton, has titled a book called Now You’re Talking: An Innovative Approach to Problem Solving for SLPs and Parents. It details specific strategies, tactics and priorities that parents and their therapists can take into account, in order to provide their kids with the best results possible. This approach serves as the operational blueprint we follow at Theraplay.

The final aspect of family and service extends to our communities in Lee County and beyond. Theraplay has been based in Sanford since 2008 and it has been our honor to be part of the city’s growth and evolution of the past decade. Our founder, Jeanine Morton was honored as the Sanford Area Growth Alliance’s Small Business Owner of the Year in 2016. She is also a Sanford Area Growth Alliance (SAGA) board member.

Community involvement at Theraplay includes bringing our message and our expertise to people and groups who can benefit from them. We welcome the opportunity to conduct seminars, workshops and special programs for schools, parent organizations, service groups, churches, government agencies, practitioners and social groups. Jeanine also has a passion for entrepreneurship and mentoring and is happy to share her message and expertise in those areas.

Anytime there is a possibility you think Theraplay can be of service to you, your child, or organization, we hope you’ll call on us.

We are very pleased with our Speech Therapist, Miss Holly. She is so positive and kind to our daughter. We love that she explains what our daughter is working on after each session. Ms. Holly also gives our family new ideas on how we can encourage and help our daugher. We have seen improvement already. Thank you, Theraplay!

I absolutely love the staff and all they offer. I never feel rushed nor over looked. Every visit they make us feel like we are top priority. My 3 & 4 year old get excited as soon as we turn on Chatham Street. I couldn’t ask for a friendlier place for our 2 little ones and in just a few sessions I see an improvement. I recommend Theraplay 1000%.
